  • Fazilah professional journey has taken her to highly reputable mental health centers including the Calgary Family Therapy Center, Eastside Community Mental Health Services (Woods Homes), Alberta Health Services, and the Autism Research Centre.

  • Registered Family Therapist (RMFT) (advanced designation)

  • Master of Social Work (MSW)

  • Master of Health Administration (MHA)

  • Two year Post-master certificates in advanced family therapy

Community Service

  • Over the past six years, she has been on the Board of Directors for various mid to large size healthcare and social service not-for-profit organizations. She currently sits on the Board of Directors for the Brenda Strafford Foundation and is the Board Committee Chair for the specialized medical services and local community supports portfolio.

Conferences Presentations and Teaching

  • Fazilah has presented at several national and international conferences and guest lectured for graduate-level classes at the University of Calgary, University of Lethbridge, and Brierchrest College.

  • She delivers training to mental health clinicians on topics such as single-session therapy, systemic – relational approaches, play therapy with children, and family therapy.

More about Fazilah

  • Fazilah’s parents and grandparents migrated to Canada over 50 years ago, after facing ethnic persecution in their country of origin. This has profoundly shaped her understanding of the range of challenges that families face and the need for compassion when working with a families.
